Day 17 of 40 Days of Grace – One Simple Way to Delight the Lord

In Broken Vessels, Windows to Grace

Day 17 – Prayer is such a privilege. Being able to share my heart with my Father, my Daddy, and knowing He will listen is so incredible! It’s easy to forget to say thank you or praise Him first. Often I run into His presence like a bratty child, asking for this or that, forgetting the wonder of Whom I’m talking to. Yet I believe He’s still happy I am coming to Him, not to someone else with my problems.

He delights in our coming to Him (Tweet this), cares about even the little things. When scripture says, “Pray without ceasing,” it’s easy to include Him in our thoughts, whether we’re looking for that close by parking space during a rainstorm or we’re petitioning Him to comfort a dear friend whose father has passed away. Those kinds of things are so opposite in importance or prayers for those who suffer persecution for Jesus. So often my worries for my adult children surface. I can’t do anything for them and they’re too far away to take chicken soup to when they’re sick, but God can take care of them when I can’t. I’m counting on it. And He cares.

Sometimes, and I’m trying to change this to every day—I stop and remember I’m entering the throne room of the King of the universe and appreciate the privilege even more—He just also happens to be my Heavenly Father.

Ps. 69:16

Answer my prayers, O Lord, for your unfailing love is wonderful. Take care of me, for your mercy is so plentiful. (NLT)

Amen, Elaine! I spent a whole year going through Psalms over and over and underlining the words, “unfailing love,”
because in the craziness of life I needed to remember how true it is! So glad to have you come by and comment
      at Windows of Grace,.
