About Kathleen

Inspirational Romance Author

My Story

From the time Kathleen was a little girl, the idea of story captivated her imagination. She wanted to write books before she could even read them.

Fast forward to a time when she got herself into a mess of trouble and had to make some difficult and life changing decisions. Once she was on a different path than she had originally imagined for her life, she was in a place where she would look to God for help and she was ready to hear His voice.

Kathleen thought that if she’d ever been a Christ follower that she clearly was no longer deserving of God’s salvation. She’s certainly made too many bad choices. She’d sinned too much to make it into heaven. And then around Easter time that year, she heard a Bible teacher on the radio say that if someone believed that Jesus had died to take away all of their sins and that He’d been resurrected, if they were trusting in Him for forgiveness, NO one could take them out of the palm of the Father’s hand. (John 10:27) As though a light went on in her heart, and a burden rolled off of it, she understood both the magnificence and simplicity of God’s beautiful grace. She’d done nothing to deserve it. Christ had done it all for her!

That day began a change in Kathleen’s life. She’s had many ups and downs and bumps in the road. She’s made many mistakes. Yet always, HE is faithful. He has forgiven her and helped her to get back on the right path and led the way.

Because of this, Kathleen writes fiction that is infused with themes of second chances, the search for identity, and peace in Christ despite what life throws at her characters. Please join her on their journeys.

Kathleen isn’t only a child of the Father, she’s also a wife to Jack for forty years, the mother of three adult children, mother-in-law to one, and grandma to one precious granddaughter. Jack and she live in southeast Michigan with two sweet kitties that wormed their way into their hearts and empty nest a couple of years ago.

Kathleen has degrees in liberal arts and applied science. She’s been a homeschool teacher, a mild-mannered dental assistant, and she currently attends her local Community Bible Study. She is the author of the Bookvana award-winner, Rumors and Promises, her first novel about the people of fictional Stone Creek, Michigan and its sequel, Secrets and Wishes. She’s been published in two different historical and one contemporary romance anthologies. She’s a longtime member of American Christian Fiction Writers and My Book Therapy’s Novel Academy..

Kathleen Rouser handles what in our day is still a touchy topic with delicacy and grace. She does a great job of capturing the fear of any wounded woman: the memories, the struggle of seeing her abuser in every male face, the hurdle obstructing her need to ever trust again. Whenever I had to put the book down, my mind tried to guess what would happen next; sometimes I was right, most of the times I was wrong! That’s the sign of a good book!
